I have been treated by Hannelie for around 10 years now. I agree with the other review that since COVID-19, she has taken on so many new patients, the quality of the care I have received has diminished considerably. This isn't entirely Hannelie's fault, there is a severe lack of psychiatrists and a huge surge in mental health cases. It's a perfect storm and I think Hannelie is just trying to help as many people out as possible As the other post mentions, her consultations are often late and are condensed to 10-15 mins which is a quick medication review rather than a full assessment of my health. Again, probably not her fault, she is trying to see urgent cases. One issue which is infuriating....she has a huge turnover of secretarial staff at the Nightingale Hospital which has lead to very frustrating issues with appointments, lack of notes being sent out and simple things like DVLA forms and GP letters not being completed. Emails don't go answered because the old PA has left. This has been the most frustrating issue, rather than the lack of care. However, there is a lovely lady on the reception at her London practice in Marylebone. whom has been there since I have been going there and she will try her best to help you As I have been under her care for so long, she knows me well and I won't change to another practitioner. But if you are looking for someone as a new patient, I would look elsewhere. I think it's also fair to say that Hannelie might possibly be coming to the latter stages of her career and so if you would like to have someone who will give you care for many years, this is not the person you need. I was lucky as I have had over 10 years continuous care.

You won’t get a psychiatrist who cares more than Doctor Fourie. She will always without fail so everything she can to help you. Whatever you need she will help with. She is also charming, charismatic and has an excellent sea NSE of humour. This psychiatrist is special.

Dr. Fourie is a great psychiatrist but since COVID, has taken on more patients than she probably should- which she admits. I know demand for help is high and she wants to help but her waiting times for routine appointments have increased, and despite paying a fee increase of £230 since Jan 2022, I find consultations are often cut short, lasting only 20 minutes sometimes. Additionally, her admin team keeps changing and aren’t as responsive as they should be for a private clinic. I keep having to chase to arrange and confirm appointments. For the occasional check-in, Dr. Fourie is fine. But if you are looking for more intensive support and organised care, then I suggest you go elsewhere. She also refuses to collaborate with my therapist and doesn’t read the notes she is sent, which is rather frustrating, to say the least.

My sister has been a patient of Dr Fourie’s for about eighteen months and my word what a transformation. We’ve had countless psychiatrists and finally we have found a doctor who has made a real tangible impact. Her treatment has meant my sister has grown in confidence and can now live a normal existence for someone with her condition. Dr Fourie has helped my sister and our family so much.
