I read some reviews about Gerald before I consulted him and decided to make my own mind up. For me he has been a lifesaver. I had been woefully misdiagnosed by my GP and others. I had received therapy, which I now realise was entirely unsuitable for my problem (I did wonder as it wasn't doing anything at the time ) I was also on entirely unsuitable medication. However, thanks to Gerald I am once again enjoying life and feeling entirely normal, the first time since September 2020. I sincerely wish that I had consulted him much, much earlier when my problem came to a head in October 2020. Gerald's approach is unconventional, if you want a suited individual (white or otherwise) that is not Gerald, he is informal and has a great sense of humour. He was also at the other end of the phone when I was desperate, unlike the many other therapists I saw and who would not respond to desperation. And my GP who I never saw...only spoke to from time to time when I was lucky enough to get an appointment, he was simply not interested and was out of his depth anyway. Gerald's experience is vast. He is eminent in his field and simply brilliant at what he does. He is remarkably perceptive and has genuine empathy. He also cares for his clients, and has compassion for them. His knowledge of psychotropic medication is truly encyclopaedic. I feel very privileged to be in his care.

I have been seeing Dr.Woolfson for a long time. Whereas other psychiatrists and psychotherapists failed to diagnose my condition and wasted great amounts of time, I then met Dr.Woolfson who comes across as very professorial and was utterly transformational to my struggle - he thus successfully diagnosed my condition within our first session. He has a very wise, fatherly and friendly personality that has led to a long and very cordial relationship between Doctor and patient and also allowed for complete honesty as well. His instincts for all things psychological are second-to-none and his knowledge of the myriad medicines used in this complex arena have helped me out of many an easy fall into a dark place. Always gentle, always jovial, my recovery has been due to him.

Dr. Woolfson has always gone straight to the fundamental issues, and helped me to see what I was doing and how I might change. He has a total recollection of things which I told him long ago, and seems to be able to read from my face and demeanor exactly where I am as soon as I walk into his office. Dr Gerard Woolfson is very kind and understanding. He listens attentitively and his diagnosis is underpinned by his vast practice and experience: he has seen it all, and I find that his advice and treatment are always spot on. He has a very sharp mind and nothing gets past him: he can find a logical explanation of even the smallest details that form a larger pattern. He always has the time to explain the reasons of all problems. He recorded a tape for me as part of my therapy, which I find extremely effective and helpful. Crucially, Dr Woolfson shows empathy and warmth towards his patients. From day one, I have felt that I am in the very best hands, and so I would recommend Dr Woolfson without any hesitation as a top-notch consultant for any mental health issues.
