I am a patient of Dr Emily Staples. I find her friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. She is a good listener. When updating me on my current health situation, she invites me to contribute to plans for the future management of my condition. This helps me to feel involved with the course of treatment. At the end of consultations I feel more knowledgeable about my condition and more confident about dealing with it. Her interventions and advice are invariably balanced and helpful. She is also a good communicator, both with me as a patient, and with other consultants on my behalf. Because I have complex health needs, what is especially valuable is that, if she is unsure of the correct response to a query, rather than bluffing her way through, she will take the time and trouble to research the matter carefully and revert to me with the answer. She has never let me down. I believe Dr Staples to be a major asset to the Clinical Immunology Department. I am a patient of Dr Staples. I always have a very productive consultation with her because she listens and relays her professional point of view. If she does not know the answer to a query, she always gives assurance that she will research the matter and inform me of the outcome. She never lets me down. She always writes back explaining the issue in layman's English. Her clinical decisions are invariably helpful
