Have had mental health problems for some 35 years. Surgery to surgery, Dr to Dr. Then I moved to Horley and registered at Birchwood. I first met Dr Elisabeth Mearns about 2 years ago. I thought it would be like all the other Doctors I have seen. In and out in 2 minutes and more anxious than I was in the first place. To say I have mental health issues is somewhat of an understatement. Well, to me it is anyway! Dr Mearns straight away pointed me in the right direction. Shaws Corner in Reigate for counseling! Since the I have been under Dr Mearns and after 30+ years I am finally getting on top of it all! Dr Mearns is warm and personable! That's what a patient needs when they walk in to a doctors surgery. She turns to you and smiles and you just feel she's going to come up with the answer to your problems! She has with me! I was prescribed a drug, after many other types which I thought I couldn't get on with and stopped taking them. I went back to her and explained what the problem was and she talked to me about the drug and the effects of them. She read up on the the drug and decided to "up" the dosage and since then I've been "on holiday from myself"

Short and sweet, Dr Liz is a great GP. Warm and personable. She always goes to the depths to get the right answers. I'm really grateful to her for all she has done and is doing for me. She has helped me immensely and I would recommend her and her colleagues at Birchwood to all in the area. She's a star in my book!!!

Dr Mearns is an excellent doctor, she always listens to my problems and never makes me feel I am wasting her time. I never feel rushed during a consultation. She is very thorough when diagnosing and is always ready to refer if its appropriate. The only thing I think could be better is if you were able to see a doctor at the weekend, even if the opening hours were quite short.

I only ask for Dr Mearns. She listens and addresses my concerns clearly, and I do not feel rushed.
