Diana listened exactly to what I had to say, she then explained patiently checking that I understood what I was being told about what would happen next & why. Then she told me what I needed to be doing right now with my condition. Other consultants should learn from Diana's patient behaviours & then understanding would be better amongst patients about their condition. Amazing !

I attended the Haematology outpatient department on 03/03/2020 for a 9:00 appointment. I was first weighed and my height was recorded. I was then introduced to Dr Diana Ioanna-Dionysia Triantafyllopoulou. She informed me that I had Low-grade non-Hodgkin Lymphoma specifically Marginal zone lymphomas. Not a diagnosis I had expected and I was in a state of shock initially. I think the doctor realised this and immediately started explaining the procedures to combat this diagnosis. After only a few minutes her very positive attitude, explanation of treatment, tests to be undertaken, timescales, treatments and possible other treatments that may be required. All of the time she said WE have to do this or that. It built my confidence the more the conversation went on. She asked about my recent attendances to hospital, what had happened and listened intently to my descriptions. She examined my recent medications, taking note of everything. We discussed a PLAN and she explained fully what the next steps were. She even told me that I had a compressed 7th or 8th vertebrae (the cause of my back pain since August last year and not diagnosed by my GPs since replacing a washing machine on my own and for which I was taking Ibuprofen which caused my stomach ulcers ultimately requiring me to have a CT Scan, endoscopy and bioscopy which all led to this diagnosis). I cannot praise highly enough this Doctors professionalism, compassion, knowledge, perception, kindness, understanding, openness and positivity, a true gem in the NHS. I thank her whole heartedly for her time and look forward to working with her in the future for a positive outcome. Only one way to describe her - PERFECTION!! Thank you!
