Dr. O'Reilly has the manners and approach of, what we used to think of as a family doctor: his questions are pertinent, his attitude caring and he is a true "consultant" in the sense that he consults the opinion of his patient. In short, he has a humane disposition that enables him to perceive the patient as a person and not just a medical case.
