I started seeing Dr Bernat a few years ago, and initially she provided good care. However, over the last 2 years the quality of treatment that I received declined. During the last year of our appointments, for example, Dr Bernat would ask me what medication I was taking at the start of each session.I can only assume that she had not read my medical notes before each appointment, which was extremely disappointing. During this period, my medication changed frequently and Dr Bernat failed to keep track and remember the medication changes, demonstrated by the fact that she tried to prescribe 2 medications that hadn’t previously worked. As a consequence my mental health declined because there had been so many medication adjustments. At the very least, I expect a psychiatrist to remember the medication I’m on, otherwise how can anyone get the appropriate treatment for their mental health? It took some time for me to stop seeing Dr Bernat, because I was nervous about finding a new psychiatrist, however I’ve since found someone that provides much better care. Based on the above I would not recommend Dr Bernat.
