I first saw Dr Claudia Bernat in November 2016, I saw her in a terrible state I was broken and had no where else to turn, she listened, was caring and didn’t judge once regardless of anything I said. I was originally treated for addiction but later was diagnosed with bipolar affective disorder. She sorted out my meds for me and adjusted them accordingly whilst I completed my treatment as an inpatient. This woman has gone up and above for me. I continued to see her for 1-1 follow up sessions, until my policy ended. Once it ended I had a few sessions which I funded myself, when I was feeling that I needed my medication changed or didn’t feel strong within myself and on edge. She always made me feel welcomed, listened to and cared about. I could no longer fund private follow ups, however recently I ended up in hospital and they contacted her to speak about my case, she was constantly asking how I was doing and if there were any updates. She is honest and does the best to help you to her ability. I have never been able to open fully about my feelings as I haven’t felt comfortable and I don’t know how to express them. I haven’t opened up fully to anyone about my past and it was kept a secret until I saw Dr Bernat. I felt complete trust and comfort whilst speaking to her. The NHS couldn’t and hasnt provided me with the treatment that Dr Bernat has. I am eternally grateful
