I was admitted to ward 26, due to shortage of beds. I was in extreme pain down my right leg, with no tests or scans or X-rays Dr. Machili guessed that I had I T band syndrome, a sporting injury. I was in Ward 26 for 4 days on high doses of pain relief, I asked repeatedly for scans / MRI Tests , I asked for orthopaedic input, these were flatly refused. I was discharged in a wheelchair with medication that was not effective for 24hours. Next day I visited a physio, who diagnosed L3/4 trapped nerve. This was confirmed by an MRI scan, showing a prolapsed disc causing a trapped L3 nerve. I realise that my condition was not his speciality but he caused me weeks of excruciating pain which could have been avoided if he had listened and investigated.
