Very poor doctor, didn't listen to me as a patient, only interested in their own self absorbed view. Diagnosed me as suffering from schizophrenia, I only had to basic research trying to understand the illness to realise this doctor was wrong. During appointments I stated I had experienced upsetting incidents with other people, this doctor desided it was delusional behaviour, regardless to the fact I could have produced witnesses, when this doctor asked me about traumatic events in my past didn't show any response when I informed the doctor that I was present at the Hillsborough disaster. Don't feel like I was ever listened to. Several times I had to correct letters written by this doctor supplying inaccurate information to other medical parties (GP social worker etc.) Regularly failed in referring me to other therapy groups in good time, suggested talking to my employer to explain my illness and my regular hospital appointments. After been made redundant my employer said this doctor had not spoken to them. After eventually getting a second opinion, during this assessment, this doctor tried to dismiss me from the service before second opinion assessment had been completed. When telling this doctor I disagreed with their opinion medical opinion, told me I couldn't take criticism and I didn't like hearing information that I didn't want to hear. Fortunately for me I saw a Proffessor from QMC during my second opinion, who kept an open mind on my experiences, Told me I do not suffer schizophrenia Dr. Innes was wrong, in my opinion ego far out ways ability.

I have just come across this page and I am very sad to see that things have not changed. I had experience of Dr Caroline Innes when my late husband was under her care many years ago. I can only echo what everyone else is saying. Not only did she fail to listen to anyone (including other Trust staff) involved in his care, but matters got much worse when we made a complaint about her. If you are reading this and you need help, exercise your right to a referral to someone else.

This is extremely arroant, rude and cold is indifferent to her patience's suffering. Single handily she denied me access to any form of Mental Health Service for years. Blacklisting is not meant to happen but it while I lived in Newark it did and every profession turned a blind eye to it. As a direct consequence of her decision to make it impossible to access Mental Services I landed up being homeless for some years. Eventually I landed up in hospital and as a consequence of that admittance I was referred to mental health services well away from this so called doctor. I was finally diagnosed as being Autistic and a paranoid Schizophrenic. Unfortunately, as a consequence being being denied Mental Health Services for some years I was also diagnosed as suffering from Emphysemia,. Avoid this doctor she will ruin your life

I would never recommend anyone to see this doctor is they want to listened to, cared, or consulted on treatment. This lay is rude, arrogant and prejudiced to what treatment works - i.e. her ideas alone and all other professionals pale beside her - and what does not. She is an old school Freudian who believes depression, anxiety and stress - conditions I have been battling years - can be sorted out with diet and psychotherapy. All drugs, including SSRIs, are useless to her. The frightening thing is that when she leaves you without this option I get the impression that she just leaves you. Alone. Worse than before, possibly dead. She just does not to care.

I would not recommend dr Innes to anyone going through mental health problems, she never ever listened to me or acknowledged my needs. She hasn't done a single thing to help me! Not a thing, thoroughly useless and a waste of time. Thankfully since recently having a baby I've been transferred to the peri natal team who I can't fault. They really are amazing. I know when my my baby turns a year I will be transferred back to community mental health and probably dr Innes. The thought upsets me greatly.
