I’ve been seeing this lady for 10 years now. I disliked her immensely at first. You need to work with her. No one can solve all your problems. I was stuck in my illness and apathy and was taking no responsibility for my own recovery. We parted ways for a while and when I was in crisis she helped me as the ward doctor and then took me on in the community afterwards. If she sees you’re taking that responsibility she will work with you. No professional can do this unless you put everything you’ve got into it. We get unwell, we cannot help it but there are things we can control and improve upon. This woman is incredible and I’ve never known such a hard working healthcare professional. She’s so busy and always finds the time to help. I cannot thank her enough. She’s saved my life more than once.

I started seeing this “Dr” in around 2009.., I was quite blatantly bipolar! Quite obviously suffering from the higher poles. All Innes did was write notes. Little interaction snd no care compassion or empathy. She referred me to some form of pointless talking therapy which was a waste of my time as much as the practitioners. I can’t even stress how much this didn’t help and how ill I had become at this point. At no point did this doctor communicate what she thought was wrong with me either.. NOT ONCE!!! I’m then sent to a “sleep clinic” bearing in mind I was having periods of not sleeping for days on end; I was high as a kite. With psychosis. Again the most pointless and damaging period of my life. I left her services as I was getting worse and worse. She actually told me on a few occasions there was nothing wrong with me! Yeh clearly nothing wrong with someone suffering bipolar. It took the next psychiatrist a leather of 2 sessions to call bipolar! Since then it’s been well managed and most of the times I have been unwell is when I’ve had to use northgate services. The damage this woman did to me is unreal! How she missed bipolar is negligent and dangerous. I can’t express how unwell I was. The unfit for purpose services she referred me to pointless and a waste of resources for someone with bipolar. The way she talks to patients and treats them doesn’t belong in the NHS. . I can’t wait for the day she leaves although it’s a worry she sets the standards for other MH practitioners within the northgate team! Once she is gone I will no longer have to pay out for private care and travel far just to avoid her. I couldn’t work, function or anything under her care! How I’m dead I don’t know. Yes the bipolar was destructive but she most certainly prolonged my hell and suffering and I’m nothing less than disgusted there are “professionals” out there like her. I don’t think I do a good enough job at articulating how bad she is.

Torn between feeling validated by the previous statements and despair that this woman has affected so many in such a negative way. I can only reiterate what others have put, she is cold, harsh, rude, unfeeling and neglectful. She is confrontational and abrasive and this is mind boggling as she is dealing with the most fragile in the community. Both times I have been in her 'care' she has neglected to give me any and just allowed me to fall through the net of the system on at least three occasions. I can't help thinking that if she had actually helped me seven or so years ago when I first had contact with her I wouldn't still be a 'burden' on the NHS now and still with all my psychiatric issues unresolved.

I completely agree with the above reviews of Dr Caroline Innes i cant understand how she keeps her job, she is a cold hard woman of very few words but can be very curt and harsh when she does speak her bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired, she asks same questions at every session and is very blunt very insulting , she does not listen yet writes a lot of notes which she writes down innacuratley , i cknsulted my GP about her sessions which often left me feeling worse than i had before seeing her, my GP said Dr Innes was like marmite you love her or hate her and symphasised with me but we have no other option in the Newark area but to see her , she takes notes askes one or two questions whilst she has a student in ghe room with you using your appointment more for teaching rather than healing i hate goinv to see her but have no other options and once out of the system its a job to get back into it as the NHS mental health is in a real mess i would suggest everyone try to get one of her superiors go be present at a consultation but it appears she is head of her department in my area and therefore self ruling, i would not recommend seeing Dr Caroline Innes ask your GP to refer you elsewhere .

She does not listen, is controlling, rude, arrogant, shouts at her patients. I agree wholeheartedly with all the other reviews. Its time she was retired before she can do more damage.
