I have read the other reviews on here, after four years of being under Dr Anna Crown as my consultant and can only express surprise at the negative ones. I ended up in A&E after having a grand mal or tonic clonic seizure out of nowhere. The last thing I remember being in A&E and the young doctor in there telling me that they thought I had had a “faint”. I was unable to speak at the time and fell to sleep. When I woke up, I was in a ward and Dr Crown came to see me every day, advising that my seizure was due to extremely low calcium levels due to my thyroid being removed many years before and that she diagnosed me with hypoparathyroidism. The treatment received then and ever since my diagnosis for what is a rare condition has been second to none. On my first follow up appointment, my daughter came with me and she was fantastic, explaining everything regarding ongoing treatment and the fact that she would see me twice a year for the foreseeable future to keep an eye on everything. Both my daughter and I found her to be very kind, approachable and thorough. I usually see her but otherwise, I will see someone else but Dr Crown has already briefed them on my diagnosis ahead of the appointment. In actual fact, she actually saved my life, if I had been sent home after my apparent “faint” I wouldn’t have been treated and may well have had more seizures or have gone into a coma. Dr Crown is a fantastic doctor and a boost to the NHS.
