I have tried to manage, unsuccessfully, my thyroid condition alone because of how unhelpful, unkind and disrespectful I found this woman. She showed little care or attention which was reflected in the letter she wrote to my GP. She believed my condition could not possibly have been effected by the small amount of medication I was on calling it “ homeopathic”. Even my Dr said this was clearly not accurate as my blood result proved that small changes clearly impacted my blood results. I was left with the feeling that she was not interested in this condittion and hell bent on destroying the thyroid and putting me on a replacement thyroxin regardless of the my fears and wishes. Had she been in anyway compassionate regarding this approac, or taken any time to inform or reassure, I may even have been open to it rather than terrified. I now need to return as I have developed new conditions due to Graves’ disease. I will not be seeing this consultant again. I would rather take my chances alone than see her again.
