Amy is a highly competent, dedicated and hard working doctor. She communicates clearly and effectively with children, their families and members of staff adapting the information she gives appropriately depending on the needs of those with whom she is speaking. She actively listens to patients, their families and all members of the multi-disciplinary team and makes clear decisions. Her kind, caring and compassionate approach to all situations puts people at ease and makes them feel valued. Amy is approachable, enthusiastic and an excellent team leader which enables her to effectively take projects forward. This has been demonstrated by her involvement with the Wessex Paediatric Oncology Guidelines and the progress made in including these on the PIER website. She has worked effectively with many members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that the guidelines are updated and the project has continued to progress. She is a valuable team member and offers support in difficult clinical situations and times of change in the workplace. Her energy and enthusiasm for her role and the Paediatric Oncology Unit in Southampton is evident in every aspect of her work and encourages those with whom she works to share her vision for excellent care for all patients and their families.
