Dr. Vaze is an amazing doctor and person who cares deeply for his patients. Having encountered numerous mental health professionals along my journey, Dr. Vaze is one of the only people who took the time, care, and effort to listen and truly try to understand my experiences and struggles to better help me navigate barriers and work toward my life goals. He recognized me as a person with individual needs and nuances, and this simple act of empathy and compassion has been life-changing for me because it offered much-needed feelings of warmth and connection during a time when everything felt disconnected and cold. Dr. Vaze helped me tremendously throughout my AHDH diagnosis. He has helped set me on a track toward normalcy in a way and pace that I have never previously experienced in my decade of working with other mental health professionals. His care for patients shows not only in his words and gestures but also in his actions and attention to detail and personalized experience. His openness and strong advocacy for patient-centred care resonated deeply within me and I hope it reaches any patient lucky to fall under his care. Our appointments felt collaborative and Dr. Vaze was never shy to share resources that might help me better understand and navigate my experiences with ADHD. He always made sure I was not left in the cracks and made the extra effort to ensure I do not feel alone or feel as if I have to struggle alone. These types of external validation for an often invisible internal turmoil are just brief examples of how his care permeates every aspect of each interaction and can make the world's difference for a patient currently going through an invisible but exhausting internal battle. In a healthcare system where appropriate care and compassion are sometimes hard to come by, Dr. Vaze stands out as a beacon of hope and change. The synergy he brings in working with patients instead of antagonizing or dismissing them is a rarity. I wish him all the best in his future practice and I hope any future patient reading this takes comfort in knowing they are in great care.
