I’m afraid I don’t agree with the other review here. We had an online CAHMS appointment recently, online with Dr Mantell. It was the first appointment with her and after some 7 years of persisting with an undiagnosed condition we felt finally that we were getting somewhere. She listened well, asked pertinent questions and responded sympathetically. My child, who is early teens said they finally felt someone was listening and understood the feelings they were experiencing. She had read our notes (which were presumably extensive over 7 years) and had a fair understanding of the case. Towards the end she offered a summary diagnosis, a potential course of action and offered a rough timescale for a follow up appointment which from a patient point of view are all great assurances. After the meeting my child actually said ‘I can sleep better tonight’ and was really happy with the engagement. Thank you

Had an appointment where Dr Mantell had not read the medical history so was asking basic questions and going over information that she should have knowledge of. Didn't feel that she listened or fully understood the current situation, rather kept with her brief of what she usually does in these situations rather than have a personalised care package. Just keep taking the meds....After the brief appointment, it was suggested that another appointment wouldn't be needed for 6 months. No contact information was shared with me should there be a problem between the 2 appointments.
