We first met Dr Thompson in November, 2014, following a consultation the previous month with a surgeon, who had assured me that it was unlikely I would need chemotherapy, as my radical mastectomy and reconstruction had been successful and there was no involvement of the axillary nodes. Dr Thompson spent almost two hours with my husband and I to explain the need for treatment in great detail and to reassure us. He took into account that my husband's first wife and a very good friend of mine had died of breast cancer ten years previously. He also adjusted my treatment schedule to accommodate our three week holiday booked to Madeira for Christmas ans New Year, as we had already had to cancel our October holiday. At follow-up appointments, he has listened patiently to my string of side-effects and he has done everything possible to alleviate these. I was a health Care Professional for 45 years and I have complete confidence in Dr Thompson.
