Alan Askari is a Consultant Bariatric, Upper GI and General Surgeon at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust (Luton and Dunstable Hospital). After completing his medical degree (MB ChB) at the University of Manchester in 2006, Alan went on to undertake a Masters (MSc) degree from the University of Oxford in Surgical Science and Practice follwed by a PhD at Imperial College London. Since 2012, Alan has undertaken research using large national datasets into patient outcomes following stomach, bowel and rectal surgery at St. Mark's Hospital. He has published over 130 medical papers and book chapters and has had over 160 presentation at national and international medical conferences.
