Written by a private patient
3rd November 2022

I requested to see Dr Morley-Davies as a private patient after seeing his name listed on the POTSUK website. The waiting time for an appointment was over two months at the time I booked but I have absolutely no regrets, it was well worth the wait, the expense and travel. Dr Morley-Davies actually telephoned me the night before my appointment and offered a telephone consultation to save me the journey but I was happy to make the journey. During the consultation, Dr Morley-Davies took my history, took me seriously and imparted a huge amount of useful information. He is extremely knowledgeable and able to communicate this knowledge clearly. He dictated a letter to my GP whilst I was there. I'd recommend anyone seeing him to bring a pen and paper for notes and your list of questions which he gave several opportunities for me to ask. This initial consultation lasted an hour. I'd definitely recommend Dr Morley-Davies to anyone with Post Covid Dysautonomia or POTS who is seeking a definitive diagnosis. I attended my local NHS palpitation clinic a short while ago. They agreed with me regarding the probable diagnosis and they ordered some tests. However, there is an approximately 8 month wait for an appointment for one of these tests. I left the NHS palpitation clinic without medication until these are complete. Dr Morley-Davies, after reviewing my case, made a diagnosis (which is for further, more specific review after my tests) and requested my GP to prescribe medication and copied the palpitation clinician in to my letter.. I could not have hoped for a better outcome, I'm hoping medication will improve my quality of life. The prospect of having to potentially wait the better part of a year from the onset of this condition to gain any relief on the NHS felt frustrating. There are relatively few clinicians with knowledge and experience of dysautonomia and POTS so for me, seeking out a private specialist was absolutely worth it and Dr Morley-Davies was very reassuring.
