I was referred to Dr. Thamindu Westidlake and the Wimbledon Clinic for lower leg pain. From the beginning the care that I received was first class. And both Dr. Tham and his Secretary Stacey Baker were so helpful and efficient. Their investigations were thorough and nothing was too much trouble for them. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the clinic.

Having suffered back pain for the majority of my life and either putting up with it or controlling it with over-the-counter pain killers, I did not immediately seek help when the pain increased and was not being alleviated by any of my normal pain killers. However, following two weeks of vicious back pain, my Doctor referred me to Mr. Jason Bernard at Wimbledon Clinic at Parkside. Two days later I was fast losing the use of my foot and my leg. My doctor was brilliant and fast-forwarded an MRI scan in order that this would be available at the time of my initial appointment with Mr. Bernard. I am so grateful that the choice of a referral to Jason was made - he could not have acted more quickly on identifying the problem that I had, and he got everything in motion for an emergency spine operation the next day (which was a Saturday). Mr. Bernard's team were brilliant, Clare Eglington, the Anaesthetist, the theatre staff and all the Parkside Hospital staff were excellent. Jason Bernard called to see me the following morning (Sunday) to check on my condition and progress, which was extremely reassuring, and, having been exceedingly frightened about having a spine operation, Jason and all the staff at Parkside gave me enormous confidence and I cannot recommend Wimbledon Clinics and all associated with them too highly.

I have attended this clinic on a number of occasions and have always found the care and treatment of patients is of the highest level I've experienced, and I've experienced a lot. This involves the the surgical dept, radiotherapy, The Lodge, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and all other staff involved across the hospital. In particular, I have been in contact with Dr Wedatilake on a number of occasions and he, as well as his treatment coordinator, Stacey Baker, have both been incredibly helpful, quick and efficient in providing me with both care and information in aiding my rehabilitation. I feel confident about the levels of service they provide and would recommend them to anyone.

I cannot fault the hospital or staff in anyway. From start to finish everyone I came into contact with has been so very helpful and friendly. I would especially like to mention Dr Tim Bishop and Stacey Baker, nothing was too much trouble for them when I had to ask for further help. Mr Bishop even contacted me out of hours for which I was very grateful. I initially saw Dr Tham who was very helpful and speedily was able to refer me straight to Mr Bishop.

Following a skiing accident I was recommended Mr Bell by family and friends for my knee injury (ACL tear and meniscus tear). Mr Bell and his support team were wonderful, took their time to explain the details of the injury and the options available for treatment. I am a particularly nervous patient and they took the time to explain the process and procedure which reassured me and convinced me that surgery was the right option. I am so glad I have had the surgery (anthroscopy) as physio alone would have been a long and painful process and I am back to walking easily and without pain within 10 days of the surgery.

I was recommended to see Mr Bell following an ACL rupture sustained from a skiing accident. Mr Bell, was kind and reassuring, and took time to explain my injury and my options, and listened to what I wanted from the recovery. I decided to have reconstructive surgery, so as to have the best chance of a full recovery. The whole process has been made so easy and stress free, because of the efficiency of Ellie, Mr Bell’s secretary. She could not have been more helpful and efficient - my first appointment was arranged whilst I was still away, and three days later I had the the consultation. As well as being very efficient, Ellie was kind and went the extra mile to ensure I was happy and everything was going according to plan. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Wimbledon Clinic, Mr Bell and all his team for excellent treatment and care.

After suffering back pain for over 3 years, I found Mr Jason Bernard at Parkside. At my first appointment, he was very caring and took time to listen to my back history and review the MRI. He suggested options for my care going forward but I was keen to have spinal discectomy as soon as possible. Unfortunately he was fully booked right up to Christmas (2014) but Clare called within 2 days to say they had an extra theatre date which they offered me. She was most helpful with all my concerns and questions before surgery. The surgery went well; when I woke up I had no more nerve pain in my leg or back. Amazing, the best Christmas present ever! I had an excellent recovery and at the 4 week post op check with Mr Bernard, he was pleased with my progress. I have managed to remain pain free (apart from a small relapse recently, entirely my fault!) and continue to lead an active life, but always being careful to avoid the no bending, heavy lifting, carrying etc. and maintaining good posture. I would not wish to have surgery again but would not hesitate to consult this team and happily recommend them as very caring, dedicated and professional.
