I didn’t give my consent to be taken off titration - I had no tried all the available medications and yet my doctors took me off. It took months for them to respond to me. Upon a review with the psychiatrist they agreed to re-refer me if I’m “so hell bent” on trying all medications. I wasn’t listened to, they were patronising and admitted that this was because of limited funding on the NHS. I had previously been on titration privately through Psychiatry UK and paid myself, this second time was through Right to Choose and I had such a different, negative experience. I now have to wait 7 months on the titration waitlist when if my doctors had listened to me I wouldn’t have been taken off at all and wasted my time waiting.

Response from Psychiatry-UK

Thank you for posting a review to let us know that you are unhappy with our service. Although we are unable to look into your case here, we recommend that you contact our Patient Experience Team (experience@psychiatry-uk.com), who will be happy to look into the issues you are experiencing. We currently only offer ADHD assessment to NHS Right to Choose patients, but we pride ourselves on keeping our processes transparent and can reassure you that no preferential treatment is offered to private patients when available. All our patients are valued equally and will always receive the same level of care. We did, however, introduce a new model of working in February of this year, reducing the titration period to 12 weeks, rather than being open-ended as previously. This new model was introduced to try to reduce the wait for patients between assessment and starting titration.
