Psychiatry Uk should not be allowed to assess vulnerable young adults. A 20 minute online conversation where no relevant questions are asked is not an in-depth evaluation. Particularly if that young person has been through the mental health system and conditioned to fawn to health professionals. They disregard questionnaires and supporting evidence from other professionals instead choosing to gaslight parents to fit their own narrative. Upon complaining and requesting a second appointment they instead chose to allow the very pea tip we the complaint was about to continue with her ego massaging and no surprise stay with her original decision. They did not speak to the young person again. They then went about informing every health professional even ones that had had no contact with them. The video recording was “unavailable “ and became a case of our word against theirs. There needs to be a review of what exactly PUK are doing for the nhs. Interested to see whether this negative review remains.
