When I first called, I was hoping for a clinic closer to home for travel purposes. Unfortunately this wasn’t possible and could only attend the main centre. This was very difficult for me as I was struggling financially and I had already needed to find childcare. After many texts and calls, they offered to cover the transport there and back by taxi. This was a godsend, I didn’t have to worry or stress. The lady in reception was very welcoming, friendly and supportive. The nurse was a bit demeaning and had an attitude of ‘well, you can’t have everything’ when I was merely asking questions. But she was informative and co-operative. There were slight frustrations when I couldn’t communicate via text (I’m profoundly deaf) and had to keep calling them via text relay in order to arrange the appointment; going through a lengthy security check every time. However all in all, I was reassured they were being proactive, and I got all the information I needed since my visit. A BSL interpreter was booked for my appointment so I had no communication issues especially with the issue of mandatory wearing masks. I was very pleased with the service I received.
