Mr Dermot Burke

Having recovered from a broken ankle after 4 weeks in plaster, I was disconcerted to find myself left with a persistent limp. After battling to try to overcome it for several weeks, I visited Dermot Burke at The Putney Clinic. He listened carefully to my problem and asked questions to establish the probable cause. He then carried out a detailed and painstaking examination to eliminate and then pinpoint the exact cause of the problem. It transpired that my time in plaster had caused a muscle group in my leg and tendons in my foot to degenerate, thus leading to the limp. After a single session of manipulation, my limp was eradicated and has not re-emerged. Dermot also gave me detailed guidance on exercises to continue with at home to prevent a recurrence. To go from 'limpy' to 'bouncy' in a single appointment was a revelation and I can highly recommend this physiotherapist.

Knowledgeable & listens to your concerns to give you a customised plan of rehab. I have seen Dermot as I needed to have a rehab plan for my shoulder. He spent time talking to me, assessing my shoulder, and showing how to execute the rehab program correctly at home. He has got a keen interest in getting you back on track and he is passionate about shoulder related injury and rehabilitation. Friendly attitude that puts you at ease. I can certainly recommend his services.

After months of issues with my calf (and attempts from a physio elsewhere), I saw Dermot at his clinic in Earlsfield. He is clearly so knowledgeable, identifying my issue quickly and after a few sessions and some home rehab I now have no issues with the calf. Dermot even gave up 10 minutes of his lunch break to tape up the injury prior to an event. I will certainly be seeing him again if any other issues arise. Thank you.

I have a troublesome case of plantar fasciitis in my left foot. Dermot Burke saw me today. His ability to explain the problem and how to set about managing it in language a layman like me could easily understand was exemplary. I have started the exercise regime he has given me and - to my amazement, I must admit - my foot already seems less painful. I cannot recommend Dermot highly enough - I went to him in a lot of pain with sciatica after having had a fairly poor experience with a previous physio. It made such a difference to see someone who was friendly and professional and who really listened to me when I described the pain. He was great at explaining in layman's terms what was going on with my back and leg and it was clear from the outset he had a plan to fix it. After only a few sessions of targeting different parts of the problem, I was free from pain and moving better than I had been in months. I would absolutely recommend Dermot to anyone needing a physio in the area.

Dermot was brilliant - I had a pain in my lower back that was so deep I couldn't properly describe where it was. At the first session he pinpointed it exactly and at the second session he figured out exactly how to fix it. By the third session I was done. He is friendly, chatty, knowledgable and is able to explain complex problems clearly in a completely unpatronising way. Highly recommended!

Dermot is great. I came back from ski-ing with a sprained ligament in my knee and after a painful (in a good way) session, and strapping up the knee for 48 hours, it is much better.

I really appreciated that Dermott talked me through everything he was doing and why and what he observed and then gave me an indication of the approach/course of action he wanted to take - I really appreciate that because I am interested to know and I do have some knowledge - I think some practitioners don't talk you through things on the assumption that you wouldn't have a clue what they are talking about - as I do know a bit about it I find that annoying. He was confident, friendly and professional. I am very happy to come back and see him again.
