On initially arriving for my appointment I was asked to take part in some eye health checks. I pointed out to the floor staff member that I was wearing my contact lenses and asked if she would like me to remove them. I was told 'no'. After the test to define my current prescription, the floor staff member was surprised when the machine gave a reading of perfect vision. Obviously as I was still wearing my contact lenses, that would have been the case. I did take out my contact lenses but the test was not repeated, either before or after my optometrist appointment. The optometrist was very helpful and made recommendations with regard to my prescription. The floor staff, however, seemed to be unsure of how to order the glasses I selected on the computer system. Several attempts were made to put the order onto the system without success. Each time the member of floor staff assured me it 'wasn't his fault' and that the computer system 'must be wrong'. I was told to 'leave it with me' and the order would be processed. I'm not totally convinced that the correct glasses or lens will be delivered. Also I should have had a pressure test and peripheral vision test on my eyes as part of the eye test that I was booked in for, this did not occur. The optometrist pointed out to the floor staff that these tests had not been carried out and noted same on the bottom of my notes, but the floor staff seemed more interested in getting me to choose the new frames from their range on display. All in all, not a great experience. The optometrist was helpful and professional. I am unable to say the same for the floor staff.
