Mr Richard Schorstein

Richard was the Matron when I was working in the Chemo Unit. He was very supportive and had always has his door open for his staff. Very approachable boss and not intimidating at all.

Richard has sound clinical knowledge and this is evidenced in his clear and conscise direction to his teams and in his valuable contributions at clinical planning meetings. He is a trusted leader, giving good rationale in his decision making and balanacing well the needs of the patients and service with the resources avaialable. He works well as a Matrona and is an excellent role-model

Richard is an amazing nurse, compassionate and knowledgeable. He is a well respected member of the multi-disciplinary team and is highly regarded by his colleagues, Consultants and allied health professionals. He is responsive and provides high quality care as a nurse and within his Matron's role. He is very supportive and is a great resource and I hope I continue to work with him for many years.

I have worked with Richard for over ten years, he has always been approachable, knowledgable and very helpful in the different roles in the Trust. As a Matron colleague, I am happy to call him for advice on a difficult matter, he has always been extremely helpful, listens to any concerns and will advise or escalate them appropriately. I have seen how Richard looks after the patients in his care, he is very compassionate, has excellent clinical expertise and puts his patients first. He is a great asset to the Royal Marsden Hospital and a pleasure to work with.
