Care,compassion,knowledge and understanding the best possible outcome are all great qualities and skills that Gill has. I have experienced other Stoma nurses in different hospitals that do not show many of the qualities above.
As a stoma patient we can feel quite vulnerable and Gill has always shown great kindness and compassion towards me as a patient. I think this is a basic level of skill that all stoma nurses should have.
We want an easy, comfortable and confident life as dealing with a stoma can be very stressful and embarrassing, so helping us to find the right bag and method of looking after our stoma is key.
