6th June 2015

I went into the Tudno Short Stay Ward at Ysbyty Gwynedd on 3rd June 2015 for a hernia operation. My overall experience was extremely positive. I feel that I could not have had better care. I was welcomed by friendly staff who appreciated how apprehensive I felt, this being my first time in hospital as a patient awaiting an operation. The ward was clean and well organised. The nursing staff were fantastic! They were kind, patient and very efficient - nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The nursing staff in the operating theatre area were efficient a friendly and succeeded in making me feel less apprehensive. The medical staff I saw - anaesthetist and surgeon made me feel confident about the outcome of the procedure. After the operation was completed my after-care was brilliant. The nurses were again exceptional. A slight medical complication caused a delay with my discharge and although it was getting late in the evening the nurses were again very patient and reassuring right up until I was able to leave. It is now three days after my operation and I am at home, feeling a little sore, but otherwise very well. From what I have written it is obvious that my experience at Ysbyty Gwynedd was extremely positive. I thank all of the staff I came into I contact with, but especially the nurses in Tudno Ward.
