My 95 year old mother went in with pneumonia. The consultant explained the X-rays showed partially collapse of the one lung. Various options were muted, in the end nothing was done. I was told she would have a scan. Never happened. Nobody kept us informed, we had to fight to get even small tidbits of information. We were told to wait after visiting hours and the doctor would come and talk to us. We waited and eventually the nurse came and told us the doctor had said she was too busy to talk to us. My mother eventually came home dressed in only a soiled nightgown and bed jacket, by car, in the rear seat with no seat belt. 14 years ago my father suffered badly at the hands of the staff here. Also my mother previously went to a&e after a fall and was kept waiting for 8 hours before anyone saw her, despite the number of times I chased them.
