My recent visit to the Northwest Heart Centre early January at Wythenshawe Hospital was a very emotional and worrying time for my family and me. I suffered a heart attack, and I needed urgent emergency treatment followed by a quadruple heart bypass.
We would just like to thank everyone who helped from the fantastic paramedics in the ambulance, nursing staff in critical care, F5 nurses, intensive care nurses and then F6 nurses, the marvellous Doctors, consultant, and surgeon who saved my life. All whom had a very positive outlook which helped me enormously. Thank you so much everyone was brilliant.
Alexander Fleming and family
Wythenshawe is a large hospital which was a little hard to navigate when having to go to other departments but on the whole my experience was a good one.
Everyone that works in Pain Clinic are helpful and treat you with respect
Excellent positive medical service
I was looked after very well.
Superb care due the duration of my stay in hospital and a full discharge care package was in place without a problem. which was great as I live some distance away from the hospital.
I was in Ward F7 after colorectal surgery by Mr. Sharma. I was fortunate to have Mr. Sharma as my Surgeon and Wythenshawe Hospital is very lucky to have him as a General Surgeon. My treatment and care for my operation and five days stay was excellent. I could not have been treated better.
Helpful and efficient in all areas. I felt safe and looked after
I’ve never written a review before but feel I have to in this case. I was admitted to Wythenshawe Hospital late on a Friday with acute breathing problems which turned out to pneumonia. Having seen too many BBC reports on the dire state of the NHS, I went with heavy heart and super low expectations. How wrong I was. How useless is the BBC?! The hospital was very clean, the food pretty good and the staff, from the porters to the junior nurses right through to the doctors at the top, were absolutely exceptional. I have to give a special mention to Tara Luke, a trainee nurse, who has the best bedside manner I’ve ever encountered. She is a future NHS superstar for sure. She made my stay a genuine pleasure rather than the ordeal I was programmed by the BBC to expect. The only improvement that could be simply made would be to be offer patients 2 antibiotic pills rather one GIANT pill which then needs breaking into smaller bits…this is because the more ill a patient becomes the more difficult it is to swallow. Everyone knows this, it’s not exactly rocket science but it should be so easy to fix! Patients are too ill to break pills into bits and nurses are too busy. Please make super large pills into 2 smaller pills that are therefore twice as easy to swallow compared to one giant pill which is IMPOSSIBLE to swallow whole. Despite this problem Wythenshawe Hospital is the best NHS hospital in Cheshire and probably one of the best in the country. Long story short: Wythenshawe hospital rocks and the staff are absolutely brilliant. Don’t ever change. You’re so close to perfect. Thank you so much for your care. And Tara, I think I love you.Xxx
Went for an ultrasound. It was done by Dr Manias. I was feeling relax and at ease thinks to the Dr. He is the best gynae doctor.
