I'm very happy with the service and support I have received. [name removed], [name removed] and [name removed] have all been extremely helpful and have made a big impact in my journey towards recovery from mental health. I still have a long way to go but I feel empowered with the knowledge and skills learnt through these beautiful ladies and cannot thank them enough for their contribution in the society. It made a huge difference in my life.

My therapist [name removed] is great! This is only my second therapy session (outside of the initial assessment) and I have already learned small techniques to manage my anxiety such as the 5 Steps and the 5 areas model. The sessions are comfortable for the most part and even when uncomfortable topics to arise I still feel comfortable to express them.

Suggested improvements
There is a slight feeling of disconnect which I think is normal with online sessions, where sometimes myself or the therapist become distracted momentarily by our environments.

Although there was a cancellation to my Monday appointment and the substitute appointment “disappeared “ my complaint about this “disappearance” was listened to and speedily resolved. The actual replacement with [name removed] was excellent and she was clear in her instructions, answered my questions and concerns thoroughly. [name removed]

Suggested improvements
Cancelled appointments due to illness I accept. The substitute appointment which “disappeared “ I found frustrating and annoying but my complaint about this was dealt with swiftly and politely and a new appointment found quickly. I hope this doesn’t happen to any one else. There is a lack of “soundproofing “ between bays which means I could clearly hear the graphic history of the adjacent patient’s bowels. Not sure what you can do about that!!

Review of Talking Therapies (OLD)

I am not sure if this therapist is right for me yet as only had two sessions. I did mention in my first session that I liked the therapist to look at me then i felt listened to (not the computer screen!) I think it’s most important to feel listened to as the whole point of therapy is to have someone listen… I will see how the next sessions go as the therapist did take note of this and moved the pc to one side!.. I also felt quite raw as opened up and the session finished quickly as had the questionnaire to do so not sure this was helpful to me. I will give it a chance and see how the next session goes but at the moment are not feeling any benefit.

Suggested improvements
I feel from the start the therapist could have spent less time making notes and more time looking at the screen (on a zoom call) The second session a very similar experience face-to-face which i thought would be better but with with typing on the pc and looking at the pc. This is not (in my opinion) the best way if attempting to build a positive therapy relationship. If the client doesn’t feel listened to (ie me) it’s not very helpful and in my view quite frustrating. I did make a point of saying this to the therapist and hope the next sessions are more effectively conducted.
