I had Talking Therapies in 2019 for about 20 1-hour sessions and found it to be very helpful. The first half were in person and then, after [name removed], were online. Now it is a very different process: only the first meeting is face to face, for 30 minutes, followed by 30 minute online meetings and right from the outset you are told that you only have 7 sessions. You feel you are just being given a booklet and shunted off to cope on your own. I think it is important to build up trust in a relationship with your therapist and this can't happen when you only get a brief, one-time in-person meeting.
[name removed] is an excellent therapist and very kind and professional. I feel respected and listened to throughout.
I would have preferred a CBT I course but was persuaded a GAD course of CBT was the best option. I am anxious about not sleeping which so far is still the main problem.
My therapist was very kind and understanding. I suffer with mental issues and they accommodated me and I felt safe and secure, and he made me feel better and I know he’s trying to help me.
Because they make me feel better about myself
[name removed] is very caring and kind. She has really helped me to understand my anxiety and low mood. She is very accommodating and felixable with the appointments.
I was really happy with how lovely the staff treated me and how I was taken seriously and validated. Lovely staff in A&E and the urgent gynaecologist staff were amazing too.
