I visited the minor injuries unit after a referral via 111. When I arrived the nurse at reception was very kind and lovely. She welcomed me and was approachable . The nurse who was responsible for my treatment however, seemed indifferent about my situation. He did offer options for treatment and it was clear that I was nervous and worried but he didn’t offer any words of reassurance. Instead i got “up to you” and “it depends” as a response for every question I asked. I understand medical professionals may not have all the answers but I didn’t feel comforted or at ease. He asked me if had cleaned my wound and I informed him I had only cleaned with a damp cotton pad however, I’m concerned he didn’t offer to clean my wound himself given how deep it was. I just got the feeling he wanted me out asap.
