The circumstances leading up to this admission were very difficult and this was not helped by the way I was treated by staff. Although I was greeted with kind sincerity, I was left alone for the entire first night without any support and I felt very isolated. Any questions or enquiries about my treatment were often met with rude and unhelpful responses and I was left feeling invisible and like my care was unimportant. I was unable to eat a lot of the food available which left me very hungry and there were no solutions offered or suggested to solve this problem. At night I was kept awake by staff turning the lights on and off every hour in my room to 'check I was okay' and medication for a chest infection wasn't given to me with the reason cited being that they 'couldn't get [me] to wake up'. This was also then not given the entire following day with no reason given. To conclude, this stay was bordering on traumatic with my mental and physical health being greatly worsened during my very short time here. I believe I would greatly benefit from a further stay in hospital however I have felt so unsafe here that I will not be seeking to do this, nor shall agree to it, if it is suggested by a doctor in the future.
