Staff friendly and caring. Needs mostly met except I and not told to take Lorazepam and I never know when to take it so it would be helpful if it is given. I should be offered by named nurse but sometimes they are busy due to obs.
Most of the staff were very caring and offered support. There were a couple who were not compassionate or respectful.
I think that the staff on Vaughan Thomas Ward are a good team and I enjoyed my time on the ward.
Good
Super service by super staff
Ward always has tea and coffee, hot and cold food (meals). The ward is cared for clean and tidy, staff always at hang, so feeling of safety, hot showers always. Staff always there to talk with you if you need to talk about any problems.
The staff and housekeepers do an excellent job even when they have been under pressure due to staff shortages at times.
They care about your safety.
Some of th staff have been excellent, helpful and incredibly supportive. Cheryl in particular was just amazing and enable me to push through and complete something that had felt impossible. Some of the night staff have also been absolutely brilliant (especially last night (20/3/2019)).
However, there are definitely other members of staff who lack compassion and empathy and are impossible to approach or talk to. It can be difficult to be objective as obviously things are dependent on which staff members are around and what sort of day you yourself are having.
Care was good
