My mother has completed the tick boxes on this form on the day she left. However at the time, she was experiencing deliveries and her answers are contradictory. We could not fault the care and kindness mum received, despite her at times difficult attitude. All staff were cheerful and understanding. We found it difficult to get information, as none seemed to have a overall view of mum's progress. We were not able to be there, every day, so progress seemed painfully slow. Whilst approaching that mum's mental state might have been a deterioration in her Alzheimer condition, I am pleased to tell you that the deliveries have gone and she knows where she is and is very much happier now at Holy well. We expect her to go home next week.

Response from Wallingford Community Hospital

Thank you very much for your feedback, it is much appreciated. The tick box system can be difficult for patients in their feedback of assessment of their care, but we strive to improve how we collect our patient feedback, and will monitor responses. We were sorry to hear that you felt that you found it difficult to get any consistent information regarding your Mother's progress, and for that reason we will put in more staff training, and will issue a poster to inform relatives and friends who to contact to enable them to get the correct and up to date information they need. I am so pleased to hear that your Mother is now more settled, and planning for home soon.
