I had Evla done on my varicose veins in August-15. I found the treatment painful and although nearly a year's gone by not only do I still have bruising but it looks like one of the veins is making a re-appearance. I had high hopes and have found myself terribly disappointed! I wish I had put myself on the NHS waiting list for vein stripping instead and saved myself a lot of money!

Response from Veincentre London

I am sorry that you have not returned to us with the persisting issues. If any small veins reappear after EVLA treatment they can usually be easily dealt with with further foam sclerotherapy injections which are quick and safe. I can assure you that it is far better to have EVLA than surgery mainly because of the very high recurrence rate following surgery. Veins can recur after EVLA but we have just analysed our figures over last few years and our recurrence rate of patients requiring any further treatment is 1.6% or less than 1 patient in every 50 treated. This is remarkably low. Private medicine is expensive by its nature. In fact all healthcare whether NHS or private is expensive. However we do make every effort to keep our prices reasonable and we are far more competitively priced than all our competitors.
