I am a 90yrs old male whose only experience of the UHW Heath Hospital has been day surgery, on 02-02-2024 I, unfortunately, was extremely ill and my daughter called the Doctors and they arranged for me to go to the hospital, the ambulance arrived and three paramedics quickly sorted me out and had me on my way to the hospital within minutes of them finished the examination on arrival at the hospital 2 of them went into the hospital arranged for someone to see me while the other kept talking to my daughters and me, the two paramedics came back and took me to the Resus dept and stayed with me till the nurse arrived a truly 5-star team. In the Resus Room, the nurse put me straight on oxygen and carried out the further examination, everything was done to a very high standard and i would have liked to have the opportunity to have thanked them personally and was so thankful for the treatment and respect showed by them and was taken to A1ward and was seen by a doctor and placed once again on oxygen, what can one say about this ward, I was amazed at the amount of work the nurses had to do they did not stop on their whole shift some seemed to be on duty 12 hours or more, they made me relaxed could not do enough to make me comfortable and were they too were a credit to their profession and I thank them for that star rating I would give a definite 5 stars cannot see how under the pressure they work they do it, well-done nurses. The one thing that did surprise me was the demand from the visitors and some patients on the nurses that in my opinion was not their job ie one young girl wanted to take her mother to the concourse and she was demanding that one of the nurses take her, my daughter who is incidentally a care worker in an elderly care home and told her that while she is demanded that the nurse is unable to carry out her duties. I left the hospital feeling great and would recommend it too anybody
