Review of Rapid Diagnostic and Assessment Centre Sutton
24th March 2021

The staff were efficient, caring and reassuring. I couldn’t have asked for more. Every single member of staff I met was friendly and kind and put me at ease.

Suggested improvements
Honestly nothing. The only stressful part I had was on arrival. My sat nav took me to the staff car park and I didn’t know how to locate the patient entrance. Luckily I had given myself enough time and found it with minutes to spare. If others have found this an issue it might be worth noting in the letter.

Review of Outpatients Department Sutton
17th March 2021

The last three were not applicable yesterday. Otherwise the overall experience was excellent

Suggested improvements
It was a very busy clinic yesterday morning and sometimes difficult to hear the name of the patient being called especially through masks. As there are two tv monitors in the area, I wonder if names could be shown on the screen to help patients especially as very few people waiting were watching what was being screened.

Review of Radiotherapy Sutton

I was very impressed with the care and attention, particularly at this dificult time due to the pandemic.

Suggested improvements
The toilets in the Radiography area do not flush very well - they could do with more water and a more rapid filling system!!

Review of Rapid Diagnostic and Assessment Centre Sutton
21st February 2021

I found the service extremely well organised. I had a mammogram within minutes of registering by a very efficient young lady, who put me completely at ease. The doctor I saw afterwards to discuss the mammogram was kind and communicative, advising me immediately that I was going to be alright, but suggested I have an ultrasound to be sure. The doctor doing the ultrasound, who was extremely busy, took time to explain what he was doing, and confirmed Dr Anna's view that I did not have cancer. I went home an extremely happy person. A big thank you to all the staff. Brilliant hospital and not all frightening.

Suggested improvements
I don't think I could find anything to improve on.

Review of Medical Day Unit (Kingston) written by a patient
26th January 2021

The communication needs addressing. It has got a lot worse recently and is a real problem for patients. For example: 1. Last month when I came for my Zoladex I was told I had Zometa too. I couldn't do it as I had small children waiting for me in the car. I'd also specifically asked previously whether I'd have it that time and told categorically no, it would be the next time. 2. Last week I had an appointment with my oncologist. I knew I was due for one in January some time. I received no letter, no email or call. I called up to check and was told it was the following day. How hard could it have been to let me know about this appointment? It was pure chance I happened to call in time. 3. Today I went for my Zoladex and Zometa. On arrival I was told I couldn't have my Zometa because I'd not had my bloods done and hadn't been to the dentist. Again, why on earth wasn't I told about having these done before then I could have got them done. Additionally, my boyfriend had taken time off work to look after our children so I could have the zometa, and the next day in case I have a bad reaction again. This is huge for him. And now he's got to do this all over again next week when I do have my Zometa. And this is just the last 3 appointments I've had. It's always a bit like this but has got much worse. And I'm just one patient. At a time when the NHS is particularly stretched it seems crazy to not be more organised so appointments don't get missed or messed up. It feels totally wrong to be wasting time and appointments because of a lack of information getting passed on to patients.

Suggested improvements
As above, it's just the communication needs to be much better. Patients aren't being told about appointments, details, bloods etc. The level of care you receive is outstanding. The nurses and doctors are absolutely amazing. But the communication really needs to be stepped up.

Review of Radiotherapy Sutton written by a patient
18th January 2021

My experience with radiotherapy was good and the ladies who treated me where professional and caring.

Suggested improvements
The only thing would be to communicate with the patient what they are doing and why. I know they know what they are doing but it is very reassuring to know what all the numbers mean!
