Share review of The Priory Hospital Woking
First time I've ever been a patient of a mental health facility and frankly I was bloody terrified when it was suggested I go to the Priory. For those in similar shoes please let me put your mind at rest. (Difficult I know when you're climbing the walls at times)
The hospital has in patients, (those that stay full time, normally for a few weeks) Day patients (those that come during group time only 1 to 5 days a week depending on how much help they need) and day patients who just pop in for one group a week or perhaps a one to one private session with a therapist.
All the staff I met were friendly & professional. The therapists were in the main brilliant and really helped me. The food was great and the restaurant staff were lovely. The patients cover the whole spectrum of society and you'll probably develop some life long friends. Going through therapy with fellow sufferers really eases the pain.
Admin things. There are TV's in bedrooms and the lounges, there's tea and coffee available 24/7. You can smoke outside in a designated area. There are plenty of car parking spaces. The nearest shops are a 5 min walk. The hospital is more like a 3 star country hotel with plenty of open outside areas to walk or sit.
In summary if you get the chance to go I'd highly recommend it. It probably saved my life.
