Department was quite busy, but I was seen within 25 mins of arrival. Staff were efficient and courteous. Based on my experience can't really suggest any improvements.

I visited without appointment due to a cyst on my eyelid which had turned extremely sore and uncomfortable.
I was seen quite quickly by a very amicable person called Mark who did a fantastic
professional job of removing the cyst.
Thank you Mark, wonderful service.

Went in to A and E today, worried about my eye and was greeted with friendly, efficient staff from the receptionist through to the nurse practitioner. The Triage nurse was calming and explained the process. The nurse practitioner, was thorough in her treatment and explained fully to me with diagrams what had happened to my eye and that it would resolve itself in time. This all happened in 1 hour ,even thought the waiting room was busy. There was a constant stream of patients being seen and all done with a friendly attitude. Well done the staff in A and E , Sunderland Eye Infirmary..a credit to the medical profession and the NHS. Thank you. Siobhan Forbes

Nurse was very helpful and considerate I really felt she cared about condition and took the time to make sure I understood, she also had a very carming manner.
The doctor also listened asking appropriate questions giving clear advice. I was very pleased with my care, they gave a repeat prescription for my doctor with is so useful.
I have always received the very best care and advice from the eye infirmary.
They should be very proud of their patient care, and Sunderland is very lucky to have them.

I was sent by the Tesco optician due to unusual pressure readings.
the staff were very good and totally reassured you whilst carrying out the numerous tests and procedures.
all of my tests came back normal so not a great testimonial to the opticians tests/equipment.
the whole experience was a good experience ( as far as a visit to hospital can be ) and I would recommend the Sunderland Eye Infirmary to anyone.
I cannot think of how they can improve the service as the building has an original layout that does not allow much flexibility.
