I was transferred to Frederick Salmon ward after a day in the acute unit following admission to A&E for anaphylactic shock. During my 3 day stay on the ward I was treated extremely well. The staff at all levels were caring and efficient and kept me informed of my treatment. I have very strict dietary requirements due to allergies but they coped with this very well offering me various choices. Hospital food traditionally has a bad reputation, but I can honestly say that all the food I had was of good quality and of sufficient quantity. There was nothing I could not eat. The one negative comment is that the ward is primarily used by patients with bowel problems so the toilets were used a lot. Although they were generally clean, they probably need checking a little more frequently.
