The care from the nurses that I received (in 2018) when having my breast cancer operation was excellent but I did feel that the ward I was on was under-staffed at night. One nurse was attending several rooms and was evidently rushed off her feet though that didn't impact upon her care and concern for me as a patient. I hope that, for the sake of the well-being on the nurses, this situation has been able to be remedied since.
My experience overall then and in follow-up appointments with my breast surgeon was extremely good, though, as a private patient, I wasn't quite sure how/whether I was allowed to access aftercare for Breast Cancer that was provided through the NHS or by other, Charitable bodies (eg Breast Cancer Haven). Perhaps more information could be offered regarding this? (And maybe is, now?)
