I presented at the emergency at 1145 am about womens health issue. The triage was quick and efficient , at 1 I saw the Dr , whom I explained what the matter was , he listened and proceeded to insert a cannula on which was very painful and uncomfortable , he did check up and asked me to wait for the scan scheduled at 3 , I sat patiently with uncomfortable sore arm from the cannula till 3 , scan done asked to wait for Drs report , asked to get the cannula out as it was uncomfortable but was told till I hear from the Dr , needles to say I didn’t hear from the Dr till 7:45 and had to wait for her to finish with the report … in short I didn’t leave the hospital until 8:30… left with a swollen bruised arm , and prescription , I’m Kenyan , the hospitals are not the best but I have never had to wait for 8 hours, I only had baby sitting arrangements for a short while … thinking minimum of 3 to for 4 hours not over 8 hours … and left with a bruised arm as thank you. It is not acceptable … shortages of Drs in jervis bay has left us open to such treatment …
