I needed to see a psychiatrist following discharge from hospital when I was having trouble sleeping and only receiving 2-3 hours sleep a night. I was first told I could see a psychiatrist in 3 weeks, then 2 weeks later I was told it would be 8 weeks and then a week later my care co-ordinator told me " how long is a piece of string." I was given misleading instructions about driving, being told it was up to me if I inform the DVLS. After the next meeting with my care coordinator I was told I must informa the DVLA and I was forbidden to drive. In the end I have had to seek a private psychiatrist at considerable expense to myself, in order to improve.

Suggested improvements
Don't mislead patients about the wait for a psychiatrist and explain realistically about the limitations of a care coordinator. Get better and more timely access to a psychiatrist when the situation is urgent. Don't mislead patients about driving; tell them their statutory obligations.
