My mother attended the Ophthalmology clinic. The drop down menus don't include this. I can only assume that the clinical expertise is satisfactory but we have nothing to compare it with. The service is very poor and focussed on the needs of the hospital and not the patient. My mother is 90, frail and confused with severe mobility difficulties. We spent an hour and a half at the clinic, were seen by 3 different people - nurse, photographer and doctor - spending no more that 10 - 15 minutes in total with them. My mother had to walk up and down the corridor three times which she finds difficult. The staff were brusque and did not make any real attempt to engage with my mother. I have asked for the bookings service to contact me before sending appointments as it is a 300 mile round trip from my home to take my mother to appointments in Telford. They don't respond to my request. There was no indication in the clinic to say that there was a parking charge. I only knew to ask because I have been to the Shrewsbury Hospital where there is a charge. No information about where to go to pay. Overall the service feels like patients are on a conveyor belt and it completely lacks a human touch.
