Yes, the committed staff team made me feel supported on every occasion I was sectioned. There was a decent atmosphere there.as well as the freedom to take time out in the separate bedrooms provided for all patients. The food was of a good standard too, with coffee and teas available. All in all, a good place and opportunity to take time to recover from a psychotic episode, and other mental health concerns. Time was given to leave the unit for one to two hours, once trust had been established, and this was spent visiting a relative or shopping, or just taking a walk. I have not recently had reason to return to Longreach House, but I will always be thankful for the excellent care that I was offered during ,my stays there, If you are possibly going to be a patient there, please do not worry, you will be in safe hands.
