Mum mother was on Castle Ward. The care she received was the best. The staff were caring and treated her and our family well. Castle ward was the best place should could have been.

My Aunt was in Lings Bar for several weeks last year after transfer from QMC, Was pleased with transfer as my father spent a number of weeks there 6 years previously , But was totally shocked at the difference in care, Very little information given when asked just told oh she is fine, Which was not the case, As she was bed bound most of the time and partially sighted found it very hard to manage food or drink which a lot of occasions was just left for her then removed when she couldn’t manage to eat, Drinks were left on table beside her Cot side so even if she could see still couldn’t reach, Dirty washing in wash basket which didn’t belong to her was there on admission and still there when she left, Had been mentioned on several occasions,Found her in wet condition sheets had been removed she was on mattresses protector covered with blanket which was wet, Clean bedding was present in her room but bed not made, I reported on finding and also on leaving was told someone was on way to do it!,On two occasions given other patient information,We appreciate staff are very busy and some of the staff were lovely, caring ,and overworked, But others made us feel an inconvenience,Would hope our findings were an isolated case as we found all this very distressing regarding our now deceased Aunt,
