After having cancer and two operations. I felt up and down with my emotions. I had the all clear of cancer, but as the weeks went on I had a sense of emptiness. When it was suggested to have counselling I decided to give it a go, I am so glad I did, as talking to my counsellor brought some of my emotions and previous fears into perspective and an understanding of my recovery. It is good to know it is an open door for help.
Today's interview with Marilyn enabled me to open up and explore how the death of my husband 3 months ago has affected me in different ways.
I have been offered one to one counselling which I already felt in need of.
Other options were discussed such as support from group- settings. I was entirely happy talking to Marilyn.
I can't think of anything that could be improved - I was treated with great care and the staff were lovely. I felt welcome as soon as I walked in the door.
My wife has Stage4 Breast Cancer. 3 years this May.
Mary, (I feel was a good and the right choice for me) helped me see my issues from a better viewpoint or perspective. The counselling as a whole was good for me. It also has helped with other other members of my family as just coming for the regular visits seemed to be viewed as positive thing for me by and my kids 15/21/25/27 years of age.
I Really enjoyed the one2one and personally feel (although only had 6 sessions due to holidays) that I'm "normal" and have learned to deal more thoughtfully with family matters. Thanks again Mary and all at the Linden Centre. Regards Peter Boulton.
I totally value the counselling I have received at the Linden Centre. Mary is so experienced & an empathetic counsellor and without her support I wouldn't have got through the last few months. I will be eternally grateful to her and the whole team, which offer an excellent service, to the community. The environment, staff and volunteers are always welcoming and calming. My family has really appreciated the support given at very difficult and dark times. I would highly recommend to friends, what this service offers. I wouldn't hesitate to contact them again, should I require support and guidance. I just want to reiterate how I found Mary's response to my needs exceptional, professional and would highly recommend her as a volunteer counsellor to all of my family and friends. Keep up the good work Trinity - all if your staff and team of volunteers are an inspiration.
Lots of positivity, caring, great listener. Great advice, I feel so much better and more positive. Thank you!
I found the counselling service was available when I really needed it. I felt my counselor listened to me and made me feel at ease. The venue made me feel comfortable.
Thank you.
Very supportive. Time to talk and listen. Very satisfied with help and support that I have received from Kevin.
Everyone was friendly and I was treated with respect yet homely. Above all I felt safe to express my feelings.
Sarah was lovely, she cared and made me laugh and was there for me through thick and thin.
If it wasn't for my counselor I wouldn't be the person I am now.
She gave me the advice I needed to grow more confident and I certainly did ! Nothing could be improved!
