Review of Accident & Emergency,
21st June 2022

Both the student Nurse and the doctor were kind and considerate. They explained everything in simple details. They put my mind at rest. The whole experience took around one and half hours which I thought was very reasonable.

Absolutely nothing

Terrible from start to finish. I was made to feel a burden on the staff. As was everyone else that was there. Many vulnerable & elderly patients were made to wait for 3 hours just to see the nurse for an initial assessment and get a red/yellow/green card. 3 hours just for that. Only 1 nurse taking forever.

I see you have plenty of security but it would also help to employ more nhs staff. After waiting 8 hours when a&e waiting times stated 4hr 30m wait time, I asked at reception how long it’ll be. Her reply was “at least another 3 hours”! I left. Annoyed, distraught & in more agony than I had arrived in. Waiting almost 12 hours is insane. And that too without friendly staff around!

Review of Accident & Emergency,
21st June 2022

I attended king George’s following calling an ambulance due to throwing up blood as a 22 year old healthy female. Ambulance took 2 hours to come. Took me to king George’s, where I was ignored and not offered pain relief or anti sickness for over 5 hours despite continually throwing up. Blood tests were ran and got the results 3 hours later despite being told I was the next patient to see a doctor 2 hours before I actually got to see one where I was told my bloods were fine and they didn’t know why it happened. The doctor advised someone would call me Monday morning to arrange for a camera to be put down my throat within the next few days to ensure nothing was wrong internally. Monday comes around - no call. Tuesday - no call. I don’t even know who to chase up because frankly they are utterly useless. god forbid it is anything more sinister as I will sue king George’s for neglect and failure to adhere to health standards. Disgraceful experience to those at their lowest. Receptionists are rude and unempathetic to say the least.

Everything. No care nor compassion and definitely no respect for the patient.

Initial wait time was ridiculously long for someone with a suspected stroke. One in the system the care was excellent.

It waiting times in emergency queues, eight hours waiting is unacceptable.

My husband arrived at the hospital last night Monday 20th June around 21:30pm as I write this review the time is Tuesday 09:55am. I understand that there is obviously a staffing problem and there is a shortage of doctors and urgent care nurses but over 12 hours waiting is totally unacceptable particularly when an individual is in pain, having breathing problem and requesting a asthma pump to ease the discomfort and having to wait 12 hours!

The triage system needs a serious over haul and why is there no seats in the Urgent Treatment centre?

I had a 2.5 hour wait to be triaged (was told by the doctor that’s usually 4 at a minimum so I was lucky), then an 8 hour wait to be seen by a doctor in Emergency Care. Staff were generally too busy to empathetic with the exception of one or two. Most were professional but obviously just doing their job and under a lot of pressure. Doctor consultation appeared to be done on “ time waited” rather than priority. I don’t blame the staff. There were patients there who needed to be seen by a GP and not emergency services.

The wider health system needs to be sorted so that true emergencies don’t wait for 12 hours to be seen.
